Jazzon: composition award

Grand Award for the Best Slovene Jazz Composition

The grand award for the best Slovene jazz composition Jazzon represents a promising attempt to restore jazz composing in the temporarily degraded space between the “serious” and “popular” music.

Each year it comprises of the competition, the preselection on the basis of the musical scores, the concert finals, performed by young and promising Slovene jazz ensembles and finally - the publishing of the music on a CD.

The intention of the award is the promotion and establishment of creative jazz composition in Slovenia.
