Jazzinty 2010

The 2010 edition of Jazzinty presents itself as a mature yet still evolving week-long event celebrating jazz as an international and a local treasure in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Initially exclusively a workshop, over the last 10 years Jazzinty has grown to be one of the most important jazz events in Slovenia. Featuring not only a world-class music academy with a roster of top-shelf international mentors from Europe and North America and a talented group of participants from many corners of Europe and Asia, Jazzinty is now also a festival of concerts every day of the week, culminating in the concert and clinic presentation of world-renowned musicians on Friday and the Participant Concert on Saturday. The Jazzon Composition Competition supporting young composers continues to expand and has now been opened to participants in Netherlands as well as Slovenia. We are also very excited about our new partnership with the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen, Netherlands. At the core of this wonderful week in Novo Mesto remains the love of music, the joy of exploration, and the special world that is created each year through the partnership of a group of dedicated and caring mentors with a highly motivated group of young jazz lovers.
