Call for Compositions

Musical genres
Jazz, latin, fusion, contemporary (improvised) music.

General conditions
Author of a composition must be a citizen or have a permanent address either in Slovenia or in Netherlands. Each author can only compete with one composition which has not yet been published on a sound carrier or presented in the mass media (television, radio, or internet). In questionable circumstances, the organizers can discard the problematic compositions.

Application address
The compositions of the Slovenian participants are to be sent to LokalPatriot – Jazzon SLO 09, p.p. 100, 8001 Novo mesto.
The compositions of the Dutch participants are to be sent to Prince Claus Conservatory, Veemarktstraat 76, 9724 GA Groningen.

Deadline
The deadline for the submission of the compositions is June 10th 2010.

Finals
The finals of the Jazzon 2010 composition award Slovenia / Netherlands will be hosted by the Jazzinty international Musical Workshop in Novo mesto. Eight selected compositions (four Slovenian and four Dutch) will be performed in The Great Hall of Janez Trdina Cultural Centre, Novo mesto, on August 18th, 2010. All the authors will be invited to attend the concert and stay in town overnight at the organizers’ expense.

Performers
The compositions of the Jazzon 2010 finals will be played by Jaka Kopač Jazzon Quintet.
